ごあいさつ
|
英会話講座は１９８１年に開講され、今年で３０年目を迎えます。長い歴史を歩んで来ましたこと、英会話委員一同誇りを持って活動しています。
本講座では、ベテラン講師２名による５５分間のレッスンを行っています。年齢問わず（老いも若きも）、テストなし（レベルの違いは有りますがお互いプラスになります）、笑いあり、多少の緊張あり、この様な状態の中で皆さん肩をはらず、暑い日も、寒い日も、熱心に通われています。
また、受講生の皆さんは、お友達との交流、情報交換、旅行、カラオケ等も楽しまれているようです。
そして委員会活動に参加、英語を活かして姉妹都市記念行事によるインディペンデンス市訪問団への参加、夢は大きく広がっていきます。
英語を学び、異文化を知り、楽しい交流や体験を通して有意義な人生を。

 Mr.Gordon White
Hello to you all.
My name is Gordon White and I am from England.
I teach classes A & B every Wednesday
evening and I enjoy these classes very much.
Many students enjoy the classes together
us, they can learn a second language.
I live in Mitaka and I have been in Japan
for 8 years. I enjoy Japan very much and
I especially enjoy "outdoor Japan"

Hi,My name is Vanessa Corey. I teach classes
C & D every Wednesday evening.
I'm from Australia, and have lived in Japan
for 9 years. My hobbies include reading,
yoga, and visiting art galleries and museums.
I like Japanese culture, such as tea ceremony
and ikebana, and Japanese food, especially
soba. |
Leilani Honda
Hello everyone !
I hope everyone's in good health and happy.
I would like to introduce myself, my name
is Leilani Honda and I am living in Japan
for 22 years. My husband is Japanese and
I have blessed with two children. Before
I work in the city office , I was teaching
in an International School in Shibuya for
10 years and it was a wonderful experience. I
love teaching so much, that's why I was so
excited when Ms. Kamiya asked me about replacing
Mr. Gordon to teach his class on Wednesday,
12nd of January , for just an hour.
I was so impressed with the student's enthusiastic
response during our " share your own
new year's experience" portion. I was
so glad that they can express themselves
even in English conversation.
I first came to Japan , it was so hard to
ask people on the streets about directions
because They were incapable to speak the
language. But now they have changed and
more " internationally involved"
and it is quite an improvement.
To the students of the English conversation
class, I hope and pray that I can have
the opportunity to teach you once again in
the near future. Thank you for sharing your
experiences to all of us.

英会話委員会について |

英会話委員会は1981年（昭和56年）に設けられました。
それ以前には「英文手紙」講習会（昭和53年）が開かれ、インディペンデンス市の中高校生たちからのペンパル希望の手紙（昭和55年）が届けられ、中学校長会を通じ何人もの中学生が文通を始めました。
英会話講座は、当初1年コースでしたが、現在は前・後期の年2回となっています。英会話講座は年中行事ですので、委員は常に緊張感を持っています。 スムーズな受講ができるよう、年間6回委員会を開催し、各クラスの進捗状況など英会話講座にふさわしい内容について適宜検討しています。
異国で情熱を注いでくださる先生方をはじめ、事務局、役員、委員の方々大勢のご支援で英会話講座は成り立っています。 |
